Check Out These New Episodes of the Enneagram+Yoga Podcast
The most recent Enneagram+Yoga Podcast was an interview we did with Dr. Shelley Prevost. Shelley is an Enneagram #2, Enneagram practitioner, licensed therapist and co-founder of Big Self School, https://www.bigselfschool.com/
Here are some of the questions we ask Shelley in the interview that you may want to journal or think about. Every episode ends with a meditation! 1) How do boundaries help you as an enneagram #2? 2) The deadly passion for the #2 is pride. Does pride or the need to be seen as good by others ever get in your way in life? 3) Are there any meditative practices that help you feel like a healthier version on an Enneagram #2. 4) What is a mantra or affirmation that helps to ground you? 5) When you have trouble sleeping, what is it that you are worrying about? 6) Do you ever experience compassion fatigue? 7) Do you go on “helping cleanse”, a period of time when you make a conscious effort not to go out of your way to help others? 8) Do you think there is an element of selfishness in practicing compassion? If yes, how do you keep that in check? How do you help for the sake of helping vs helping to feel good? — Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/christy001/support
We also recently interviewed fellow yogi, Maggie Sparks. Maggie is an Enneagram 1. Maggie is a devoted dog mom, yoga practitioner & teacher, homebody extraordinaire and dominant Enneagram One. She discovered the Enneagram in college through a copy of “The Wisdom of the Enneagram” that was passed around her house of 8 girls. It took about 5 years to land on her own number, but she has leaned into her identification as an Enneagram One and loves to dig deep in discovering others’ Enneagram paths. Practicing Yoga and studying the Enneagram have given her the tools for cultivating self-compassion and kindness towards herself, and she is so grateful to have stumbled upon both! If you are an Enneagram 1 or Reformer perhaps spend some time meditating on these questions: 1)Tell me a yoga pose that helps you feel less rigid and helps you to move towards a feeling of freedom in your body?2) When do you get most caught up in perfectionism? 3) Were you a serious child? How is the Enneagram helping you be a more playful version of yourself? 4) Enneagram 1s sometimes think of things as right or wrong or good or bad. How is the Enneagram helping you to embrace mystery or the grey of life? 5) Ones often have a strong inner critic. What is your self-talk like and what helps you to be kinder to yourself? 6) What helps you be more optimistic and joyful? — Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/christy001/support
