Peace is:
Being present to the wonder of it all, and grieving the brokenness of this world.
Searching for knowledge and truth, but leaning into mystery and the wisdom of seeing through a mirror dimly.
Trying to individuate from others, and remembering you are a thread in the great tapestry of life.
Living life cautiously and in a prepared manner, and daring yourself to boldly fly.
Learning to be the wild unicorn you are, and yet simultaneously allowing others to show up in a multitude of ways.
Building bridges to affirm our common humanity, while also learning to speak up during conflict.
Dancing with your skeletons and insufficiencies, and affirming your inherent worth and goodness.
Cultivating joy and fun, and engaging in sober living and mundane tasks.
Prioritizing your work and goals, but also learning to rest and be still.
Acknowledging the glimmering spark of the divine in your neighbor, even when their beliefs are at odds with your own.
Hearing the whisper of Grace telling you to be kind to others as they fight life’s inevitable battles, while also offering that same compassion to yourself.
Peace is always a paradoxical way of living.
Even when peace seems elusive and you see no point in being an ambassador of it, the invitation is crystal clear.
Can you open your heart back up to peace as if you were a lotus flower trying to bloom in spite of the menacing elements around it?
Your serenity and convictions matter and your peace, like a rock baptizing the water, will ripple out and heal this divided world.
