O God of Many Names

O Benevolent Energy, I feel Your soft smile in my direction, but I believe You also find pleasure in those wildly different from me.

O Purpose-filled Creator, you stir in my heart-space to live a life of meaning and pursue a vocation that enlivens me.

O Sky Painter, your creativity hearkens me to bear witness to the wonder of it all and design art and beauty that testify to thee.

O Faithful Spirit, I trust in you, but may I keep my heart wide open to all of your creation, especially the people who mystify me.

O Radiant Luminary, you envelop me in the dark night of the soul and gently rekindle the light within me.

O Divine Dancer, I sway in this sacred temple that you call good and hear your invitation to always treat my body with reverence and kindness.

O Wise Owl, I seek intelligence and understanding, but may I remember wisdom is most fully found when I don’t possess all the answers.

O Peaceful Warrior, I strive to be a channel of your serenity, but may I remember there is a time to speak up for justice so it might rain down on all of humanity.

O Reforming One, may I resist my propensity toward apathy, and use my voice, hands, and feet to be a balm to a world in need.

O Forgiving Spirit, as the trees let their leaves fall to the earth, teach me to surrender my own resentment and hurt to you in order to be made new.

O Being of Rest and Ease, when I prove my worth through laboring, you softly remind me to quiet my mind and body. In the sacred stillness, I find a heightened sense of peace and clarity.

O Holy Midwife, you cradled me in the womb and heard my first cry, and you will receive me in death to be my eternal rest. But may I also let you cradle me in the in-between.

O God of Many Names, you do not call me to a dogmatic way of thinking, but always to holy action and compassion towards myself and all beings. I see my growing edges and incongruences, and yet I hear you whisper, “You are abundantly cherished.” My weary soul is hungry for your tender and soothing presence. As I rest in you, I recommit to being an ambassador of your love all of my days.
